What's Your Identity?

You are loved.

How great is the love  the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! -(1 John 3:1 NIV)

You are created with a purpose. 

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. - (Jer. 29:11 NIV)

You are treasured.

And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. -(Luke 12:7 NIV)

You are beautiful.

 How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves. -(Song of Solomon 1:15 NIV)

You are created in the image of God.

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. - (Gen. 1:26-27 NIV)

You are known intimately by God.

O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD. ... For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. -(Psalm 139:1-4, 13 NIV)

You are a sinner.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. -(Romans 3:23 NIV)

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. -(Romans 6:23)

You are loved.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. -(Romans 5:8)

You are saved by grace.  

That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. -(Romans 10:9)

You are free.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. -(Romans 8:1)

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -(Romans 8:38-39)
